A very interesting story about a woman who gave up her career as a concert pianist to raise her children. People interested in family therapy might also enjoy this. I interviewed the author on a radio show and it was fascinating.

    2. Rita Graham

This biography of pianist and child prodigy of Gitta Gradova was written by her son Thomas Cottle, himself a highly respected psychologist. He weaves brilliantly his mother's professional and personal life, but leaves unclear his own complicated feelings about their relationship. It seemed as if he couldn't unravel his own experience from the star-studded swirl of celebrities that populated his childhood. This resulted in my feeling the book was somewhat unfinished.
