4.5 stars. I loved this story it was so funny and sweet, and I want to SHOUT in joy for finally reading a book that has correctly used Spanish!!! THANK YOU NEIL!!This is Adam and Javier's story. Adam is a party planner in South Beach he likes to have fun and loads of sex with all kinds of boysHe's not into commitment. He meets Javier Marisco and things change fast. They are explosive and sexy together and things heat up a lotBut there are plenty of issuesAdam is in a mess with some bad business [...]

Okay I confess: I had a bit of a hard time with Adam in the beginning of the story. He's just so not the type of character I usually go for like to read about - too slutty, too conceited, too airhead etc. And since the story is told in Adam's first person POV I feared I wouldn't enjoy it, but I was very wrong.Adam has a lot of growing up to do throughout the book as well as we've got to know him better and see behind the facade he's putting on. He's smart and caring and afraid of having his hear [...]

I have only one complaint: Javier just wasn't "there" despite his being the other half of the MC, despite the fact that he and Adam do have an HFN. MA is totally Adam's story and Javier only appears - until towards the end - to provide the sex between the pages. For the first two -thirds of the book, Javier is pretty one-dimensional and towards the end, when Adam asks himself when he fell in love with the hunky Latino, I didn't know nor did I know why. Because Plakcy doesn't take me through this [...]

I loved writing this book! From the moment Javier and Adam met, I felt the sparks and I was eager to see how they'd get together-- and what would happen once they did!I wish I'd been able to be a real estate developer like Javier-- when I moved to Miami in 1986 I saw the potential in redeveloping South Beach but didn't have the money to take advantage of it. So the book is wish fulfillment for me on many levels!"The Sea Between Us" is a short story that follows this novel and gives Javier and Ad [...]

It took me a while to get into this book but I am so glad I hung on. I understand why many people think the characters only got together to end up "in bed together" but I think it worked out for them. I liked how the story unfolded and actually having mystery in it without actually being too scary. I usually get annoyed with characters when their relationship can't run smoothly because of their inner thoughts, but in this story I didn't feel that way. I was glad that they got to be happy in the [...]

Hhmm, I liked it but wasn't swept off my feet and it took some time for me to care about the relationshipI think I needed some more time with the MCs out of bed. Still a straight forward, good read.

The story was likable but the characters didn't attract me. Adam was strange guy and I didn't much like him, but at list the story has good happy ending.
